GLOBAL PEACE INITIATIVE ANNOUNCES $1,000 ART CHALLENGE to YOUNG ARTISTS!
LOS ANGELES: The Global Peace Initiative is known for placing large, peace-themed monuments designed by young artists throughout the world. Now, they will reward one young artist between the ages of 8 and 15 with a $1,000 cash prize for the winning design of a Middle East Peace Monument.

The atrocious attack of October 7th has resulted in catastrophic violence on both sides. The casualties among children has been particularly devasting. The Global Peace Initiative hopes that a plea for peace by children, in the form of a peace monument, might encourage world leaders to consider a peaceful resolution to the conflict
CONTEST RULES
- Parents must submit the artist’s entry along with a completed application. Applications are available at: www.peacemonuments.com.
- Acceptable works are paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Computer-generated entries cannot be accepted.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 8 to 15 (verified);
- Design entries must be peace-themed and non-political;
- Contest entries will be accepted between October 1, 2024, and November 30, 2024.
- The winning design will be announced on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at noon, Pacific Standard Time.
- The winning artists will receive a cashier’s check within 10 business days of the contest winner’s announcement.
- The first prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the artist chosen to be the Official Artist of the Global Peace Initiative’s Middle East Monument, based on their art entry and their availability to accept the commission for the monument. The commission will include but is not limited to, creating the art and design for the monument, acting as a spokesperson for the Global Peace Initiative and its Middle East Monument, granting media interviews, and making event appearances such as at gallery shows and dignitary’s receptions. The commission will also include the opportunity to have the artist’s work published and distributed on an international basis for which the artist will be paid a royalty on any works sold. All expenses will be paid by the Global Peace Initiative.
